Father's Day

Just because I'm a slacker and didn't do a post on Father's Day, doesn't mean that Kevin didn't deserve it!

He is the best father our little boy could ever ask for...and our little boy knows it!

I told Kev we could do anything he wanted for Father's Day and he chose to go see his grandparents (see this post). Awww! Doesn't that just say enough about him right there??!

He's a great dada, hubby and friend. I love you so much babe. Thank you for loving our munchkin as much as I do! You were born to be a dada and you do it so well!!

Enjoying the Small Things

Last weekend, I enjoyed the small things...

Like Kaiden sitting on his little potty/stool in the bathroom while I shower because he just doesn't want to be away from me. Swoooon.

Going through old photos with Toots and Kev.

Seeing Toots and Jr as youngin's and wowing over their wedding photo. (secretly wishing I could steal a copy for myself! lol)

Seeing Kaiden's smile shine through in black and white photos of Kevin's dad as a child. Whoa!

Hearing Kaiden shyly ask Grandpa Jr. if he can ride in the blue truck.

Riding in THE blue truck with one ecstatic little boy!

Seeing a deer, 3 wild turkey's and a fox.

Kaiden excitedly talking about seeing a deer, turkey's and a fox, although I'm not sure if he really did see them. lol.

Kaiden asking demanding Toots to dance with him to Beat It.

Lying on the bed with Toots, Kev and Kaiden while Kaiden jumps and jumps and jumps.

Seeing a sweet 5 month old and a not-here-yet baby's nursery. =)

Eating yummy watermelon.

Holding hands with the hubs while driving.

Kaiden saying "mama miss you" when I don't hold him or pick him up right away!

Kaiden using the potty all day.

Letting Kaiden pee on a tree because we are changing him out of wet clothes outside and then having him ask later to pee on the tree. ha ha.

Watching Kaiden run and jump through puddles and playing with my camera settings to best capture the moment.

Hearing Kaiden proudly and confidently sing the ABC's to his family.

Laughing at Kaiden when he refers to the guest room at Toots and Jr.'s as "Kaiden's room" after taking a long, hard nap.

Snuggling in bed, just me and Kado, after a long day away and feeling completely relaxed.

P.S. my weekend was so great, that one, I made it to work EARLY and two, I made my bed on a Monday morning!!

That is progress my friends. Straight progress.

P.S. - His Firsts!

I forgot to mention that this morning Kaiden DIDN'T cry when Kevin dropped him off at school!!!

First. Time. EVER!

Whooohooooo!!! Word has it that he was actually laughing. =)

It's kind of like when he started smiling..
or started lifting his head
even when he first tried rice cereal
or started holding his baba
When he starting sitting up
and his first trip to the beach
his first swing ride
oh! and when he starting LAUGHING
and learning how to crawl
his first holidays
and his first game of hide and seek
like when he first stood up in bed
and starting pulling himself up everywhere
and eventually standing on his own
which eventually led to walking
when he was first learning to give kisses
and drink from a straw

His firsts are always so special and just prove how much he is growing. He makes us so, so proud!!

P.P.S. did these pics make anyone else cry??

Just me? Ok, then.

Mama's Day Off

Do you often wonder what we do on Thursdays, my weekly day off?

No?!

Ahem. Well then. I guess I'll tell you anyway. =)

Yesterday, for example. We got up, watched Yo Gabba Gabba and ate breakfast. This is a pretty typical morning.

We played and read books before it was time for me to take a shower.

After my shower I tried to convince him to go to the doc with me. He said NO! many times. ha!

So I woke Jo up to see if she could watch him while I was gone. She said yes.

The doc went good. I lost 7 more lbs. from my last appt. Whoop!

I went home and scooped up the munchkin and Jo and we headed to Walmart b/c Jo had to get some meds.

Kaiden and I waited outside and he read to me.

When we got home, we played outside. It was soooooooo beautiful yesterday. In the 80's in the morning. Plus we have a big tree in the back that keeps a good portion of the yard shaded.

We practiced our animal dance moves. Here's the Bunny Rabbit.
Showed love to our doggies, later following up with pouring water on their heads while laughing hysterically. Poor doggies!
We also drank honey from the bottle. Well, he did. Me no likey!
After lunch and some more playing, we laid on the trampoline and looked up through the tree into the sky to see what we could find.
When Kaiden went night night nappy, Jo and I got in the pool and I burnt and am hating myself today. ha!

After dada got home, him and Kaiden enjoyed some pool time but all he really wanted to do was lay on the trampoline with his mama. Awww!

And sometimes, this is how mama's day off goes. =)

He makes me a better person & I love him!

Last night Kaiden had me cracking up through dinner b/c we were practicing different facial expressions.

He's got happy and scary down. We are still working on sad face, but he had me in stitches trying!

Then we went outside and enjoyed the beautiful summer heat.

He got a lot of use out of his beloved swing set.

We also played catch, hide and seek and put on a dance show for Kevin with our newly learned animal dance moves.

Thank you, Yo Gabba Gabba.

During our show, we got caught doing the Bunny Rabbit by our neighbor. lol.

Speaking of our neighbor, lets just say...she's not my bff. ;-) However, Kaiden loves her. When he tries to convince me to go to the fence to talk to her, I try to convince him to play with me instead (I know, I know..I'm horrible). But last night, he was not having it!

"Mama, come on!!!!" he loudly screamed until she said "I think he wants you to come to the fence with him."

Uhhh, ya think?

So like a good mama, I obliged.

And we actually had a good conversation about flowers and ummm...cancer. But, ya know how neighbors go. lol.

We ended the conversation with her giving me a beautiful bouquet of flowers from her garden. Wow! I couldn't stop staring at them last night. I even told Kevin I'm officially lifting my flower ban and now want him to give me flowers on a regular basis. ha!

They have to be wild flowers, like these, of course! How beautiful are these??

And, speaking of flowers. When I was watering mine last night I noticed my first bud in the garden that my neighbor gave me seeds for in the Spring. This morning I went to check and my first flower bloomed. Delicious!!

The moral of this story....Love thy neighbor.

Even if it's your 2 year old that convinces you to! =)
