Same Name. Wrong Game!!

It's really no wonder why I don't have any new mommy friends. Seriously. I mean, either I'm not aggressive enough or, as I found out this weekend, too aggressive. :(

Let me start at the beginning. Goose and I have been part of this mommy meet-up group for a few months now. But, since I work full-time and there are just way too many fun things to do in the summer, we have never had a chance to attend an actual meet-up. Well, this weekend, we did. We met up with some mommies and their kiddos at this place called AirZone. It's full of inflatable fun! To my disappointment, the 2 and under section was lame-o! Goose enjoyed it for a bit, but soon grew tired of climbing over the same foam block.

It was so cute, though, to see him interacting with a kiddo who's almost two, but about the same size, with the same name! Awesomeness, since all the kids at daycare (except one) are much older or younger. Anyhoo, we ditched the 2 and under crowd and made way into the bouncy house. Total fun times!! ..and why was I the only mama in there? Am I just cool like that or too overprotective?! Wait!..don't answer that! ;) It was all good though, until the really big kids got in and were extremely rowdy that Goose couldn't even stand up anymore! lol. What to do, what to do?

Ok, so I know they must have age limits on things for a reason. But, I've always been one to push the boundaries a bit. And, there was this really HUGE slide that I JUST knew Goose would have enjoyed going down with his mama. I didn't know, however, how fricken hard it would be to get to this so-called fantabulous slide.

Back to the kiddo with the same name as Goose. He had crawled thru the first little part of this maze that got to the slide and was trying to get over the first little "wall". I felt so bad for him and I could tell his mama didn't want to get in, so I offered to help. I threw Goose in and climbed in after. Hooched the little boy over the wall and threw Goose over right behind him. They were laughing up a storm! I was so excited! His mama asked if he could get thru the rest of the way cause he was out of her sight now. She ended up climbing in with us and the next part is where things went horribly wrong. The next part of the maze was to SQUEEZE thru two pieces of air-filled rubber or plastic or whatever it was. Simple enough. ha! I wish I could have kicked myself for my next move. The other mom and kiddo got thru and it was Goose's turn. So, I hooched him up and she was there to get him on the other side so I could get thru. Well, I don't know if it was b/c she was getting him on the other side or the actual squeezing itself, but Goose FLIPPED out! I mean, crying and screaming hysterically!! I squeezed thru and picked him up to calm him down. I started bouncing up and down and he did stop crying at that point. We went thru a tunnel and we made it ...to the slide! (Ugghh...I put my head in my hands as I think about this) There was one way and one way only to get to this awesome slide. Up a 10 -15 foot fricken wall with little pegs for your feet. Yeah, like rock climbing or something. AND it was slippery b/c you had socks on. UGGHHH!! So, we were really trying not to give up at this point and the other mama guided her son up the wall. He was doing great too! But, about 3/4 the way up, he was done. She tried to push him the rest of the way, but it was a no-go. I couldn't even make it that far b/c by that point Goose had a death-grip on me and I was slipping everywhere. So, yes, we had to face the music and....dare I say it...go back the way we came! Yes, thru the squeeze thingy!! OMG! The look on this mama's face was not happy, to say the least!

Back we went. Her and her son got thru and were trying to help get Goose back thru. But, let me tell ya, that boy was not having it! He started screaming, kicking, crying, just plain freaking out!! So, what's a mama to do?!?! I put my backside thru and tried to grab him with my arms. He was getting away from me every way he possibly could. I was able to grab a pant leg and sorry to say, I had to go for it. I pulled him up by the pant leg and got him to me. I squeezed thru and pulled him thru the rest of the way despite his death grip to the rubber (or plastic or whatever)!
My poor baby was trau-ma-tized! To top it all off, a group of people and an employee were waiting on the other side. Yeah, that's the side my a$$ and legs were hanging out of for God knows how long! Goose was crying/screaming bloody murder and I was red in the face and sweating. Sweet! The employee told me I wouldn't be able to get the rest of the way out b/c it was too slippery, so I had to climb out the side. A nice man offered to help, but Goose wasn't having it. So I hopped out ever-so-gracefully (I'm sure) and went to console my probably-ruined-for-life babycakes.

The other mom met me on the outside and all I could do was say "sorry", to which she replied, "I'm sure he'll forget it soon." :( The employee made sure that I knew what was age appropriate and offered that we go into the bouncy house instead. Yeah, been there, done that. So, we just decided at that point, it would probably be best to leave. And we did. We stopped for some lemonade and that made Goose happy.

I just hope this doesn't stop him from trying new things in the future.

He woke up screaming in the middle of the night last night. My heart is hoping he wasn't dreaming of the squeeze thing and that he totally won't be scared of all air-filled fun for the rest of his life. The sickness in my gut, however, was telling me differently. :(

Great first impression, huh?

But, to leave you on a good note (even though I'm sure you laughed your butt off like my mom did lol)..here are the missing pics from my zoo post the other day.

Goose's hat was on normal when I ran in the house to grab his water..I guess he thought it needed some adjusting!

Aren't these monkey's so cute?? I want! I want! I could just eat this cutie right up! And, a few days ago (before the incident) I took a pic of us and told him to say cheese. Aww, what a sweetie! Look at all those teeth!!!
The end.

Aaahh Aaahh!

I'm a bit obsessed with Monkey's. I don't know why, really. I'm sure I'd be scared to death of one if it came charging at me or something. But, behind glass, they are just so darn cute & funny! And Goose loves them too! He got a huge kick out of them being silly at the zoo yesterday! Fun fun times. He goes "aaahh aaah" when he seems them. :)

These were the silliest..jumping all around, making Goose laugh up a storm!

These little guys had the longest tails! So cute!

Here's Goose looking at the monkey's and the big ol' turtles!

Goose helped me push the wagon throughout the day. He's such a GREAT helper!
Here Goose is enjoying lunch while we waited for the Sea Lion show to start! He LOVED it! He was clapping as they did tricks, dancing to the music and laughing a bunch!
Awww, sharing with his mama!
Ok, if you didn't know, I'm deathly afraid of birds. But, Goose kept walking up the the bird cage and was totally intrigued by the colorful, talkative death-creatures! Soo, mama just had to go in with him and check out the 20 million flying birds as her heart raced and raced. He loved them and I was so happy! I don't want to instill fear in him, just b/c I'm a wuss. ha! Go mama! Go mama! Face your fears! Face your fears! Seriously, this was HUGE for me! I'm so blessed my baby gets me to do things I wouldn't normally do. He's such a good influence! I love him to pieces!!

I have a couple more pics on my camera (these were taken with my phone) that I will upload today or tomorrow. After a few pics, the battery died. I so wasn't prepared for that! :(

Happy Happy Friday y'all!!!

Yadda Yadda.

The Hubs and I went to a wedding this weekend. But, according to this picture, we were going to prom in ..uhhh..1949! ha! We had fun, nonetheless, and I got to drink up some yummy wine! Whoop! It's weird, as parents we are always talking how we should go out on more dates and yadda yadda yadda, and, although I had a great time mingling with adults and sharing quiet, sweet moments with the hubs, we both couldn't wait to get home and kiss Goose goodnight! ;)

...and, just in case you were wondering what my makeup, earrings,
and shoes looked like..
There you go! ha!

Toddler Friendly.

So, after our last encounter at the park, I decided we should look for another one. Not because I'm so crazy that I think it could really happen again, but just because I thought we were ready for a change of scenery. Turns out, it was just what the doctor ordered! Goose and I found a cooler, more toddler friendly park right down the road from the other one. We had a blast & cannot wait to go back again!!

Here's Goose VERY excited to check out the new digs.

He wasted no time at all getting down to business!

"Look, mama, I can do it all by myself!!"

And down the slide he went..like a pro!!

And back up..

"I see you baby!!"

And back down!

Water break!!!

Let's play some ball!!

Peek-a-boo!

One. Two.

One text that says on my way.

Two of my boys coming to see me.

One single, beautiful rose.

Two girls who got high-fives.

One office who's day was made.

Two kisses I received goodbye.

One happy wife & mama.

Two posts in one day.

One full heart. :)

Hi, my name is Mama. I have a problem...

Why is it that when I go to the store to look for something for myself, I always end up finding something for Goose? Is this a mommy thing? It must be b/c I have never had this "problem" before. I put problem in quotations b/c, to me, it's not really a problem. ha!

Anyways, I'm in search for a dress for a wedding this weekend. This used to be such an easy task! I guess when you're creeping on the weight you were when you left the hospital after delivering an 11 1/2 pound baby, that's where the problem starts. Yeah, this is weight I've kept off for over a year. Not that I ever reached my goal weight, but dang, I used to be much closer! Umph! I feel defeated.

Anyways, where was I? I found the CUTEST monkey backpack for Goose at Old Navy. OMG! I walked away b/c it wasn't on sale yet. I don't buy anything there (except for his bday pants) unless they are on sale. So, I must wait. But how cute is it? I know. So fricken cute! He will have this eventually, I give you my word. :)

I also saw the cutest pj's ever and this shirt, this shirt, (which were SO NOT $5 in the store, or I totally would have grabbed them up), and although I didn't see this shirt in the store, I definitely think it's a MUST too! I mean, don't ya think?!?!

As far as sweaters, I love this one and this one! And JEANS...he is so cute in jeans!!! Love these and these!! And, don't you just thinks he needs these cords in brown and green?? ;)

Hopefully in a few months, we'll be getting some of these! hehe. No, we haven't started the process yet. Honestly, I haven't had the will. Also, I can't choose a seat. Which one is the right one? The musical one? The one that converts to a seat on the actual toilet?? AAHHH..the decisions.

So, yeah, you see my problem? They have such cute stuff out there for boys! How can I not find things for him??? He is so creeping on needing a new wardrobe, it's not even funny. I'm gonna have to take him to the store with me though to figure out his sizes. Technically according to the weight and height, he's supposed to be in a 2T. I think this will work for pants b/c his 18 months are just now getting tight. But for shirts, I just don't think so. Most of his shirts this summer were 2T. I got 2T vs. 18 months b/c when I held them up to one another, they were so close in size. Yeah, those 2T shirts are getting tight now. haha. My 17 month old is going to be in 3T shirts this fall/winter. HA! Love it! ;)

So, what are your shopping problems??

Sweet Moments.

Yesterday morning when I was leaving for work, I asked Goose for a kiss. He smiled and started to dart the other way (he likes to mess with me like that). ha! I said "mommy's going to work" and he looked at me with this sad little face and said "wor?" He then ran lips first into mine and gave me a big ol' goodbye smooch. Ahh..heart melts.

Yesterday, after dinner, we went outside to play with Mimi. We have this little deck attached to our shed that Mimi showed him how to get on and off of a week or so ago. Last night he asked her to get "up" with him. After they were finished, he said "mama, up!" and wanted me to be apart of it too!!! Awww...sweet boy.

On the way home from daycare last night, Goose was screaming "deenor!" "deenor!" This means dinner and I knew he must have been starving. We stopped by Chick-fil-a and I got him some nuggets and myself a lemonade. Yum! Well, turns out he was more thirsty than hungry. He gulped up most of my lemonade and when he was finished drinking for a moment to eat a nugget he would hand the cup to me and say "tank tu!" Like, thanks for holding my lemonade for me mama while I enjoy a delish nugget! ha! My baby has such great manners...love it!

The other night, Goose wasn't feeling good. It was only 6 p.m. and I was hesitant to put him down for bed that early. So, we turned on some Gabba and snuggled together until dada got home. If this doesn't fill your heart with love, I don't know what will. Ahhh...pure bliss.
