Good.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Kaiden likes to take walks up the street to the school at the end of our road. Saturday morning was no exception. While Kevin was off unloading our flood trash, Kaiden and I enjoyed some play time!
Kaiden: "mama, walk!"
Me: "do you want to go for a walk Kaiden?"
Him: "Yes! See doggies?" (he likes to see the dogs bark at us as we walk by)
Me: "Ok, sweetie. Yes, we can see the doggies. Should we get dressed?"
Him: "Nooooooooo!!!"
Me: "You want to wear your pjs outside for all the neighbors to see?"
Him: "Yes!"
Me: "Ok, then. Go get your shoes please."
Him: runs to gets shoes while giggling, comes back and asks "where mama shoes?" (he has to make sure I'm actually coming with..lol)
Me: "They are over there, sweetie. Lets put on your shoes first."
Him: runs to get my shoes.
Me: puts on shoes. "Ok, mama's shoes are on. Now, lets sit and put on your shoes."
Him: sits, patiently.
Me: "Do you want to bring any toys with us?"
Him: "No!"
Then we were headed out the door.
We run down the driveway and he claims with a whine
"Mama, up!" meaning he wants me to carry him.
"Oh no, bud. This is a walk, so you have to walk." (sometimes this works, sometimes not..haha)
He grabs my hand and we walk. He points out if he sees birds. He splashes in little puddles. He stops for a drink of water. He asks several times "where doggie at?" if he doesn't see the dogs out in their usual spots. Then usually follows up to his own question "doggie sleeping" ..as a comment, not a question. He seems satisfied with that answer, too. So I agree. He is sure to point out the fake goose in one of our neighbors yards, except I don't think he knows it's fake and that makes him excited. Then we get to the end of the street and he announces which way we have to go. "Slide!" as he points to the right. And we walk up on school property and he pulls me in a direction opposite of the slides. He wants to go to the "house" a little something we discovered on our last trip there. =) I'm not quite sure if we are supposed to be playing in this area, as it is down by the building in a gated area. But, the gate is not locked, so I think it's ok?? And then, the kid has a blast! I mean a fricken blast! It's so funny what makes them happy at this age.
We he got tired of that, we walked up to the blacktop area and jumped over all the white lines as he laughed and laughed and laughed. =) After I tired him out a bit, he was ready to go! ...and of course, wanted me to carry him. So we opted for a piggy back ride and that sufficed. We got back home filled with love in our hearts and sweat on our foreheads. We relaxed with drinks and reading until the next adventure began. I love my life. It's simple and wonderful!
Enjoy every moment as a special one, even if it's just walking up the street in your pjs. =)
