In a Nutshell.

Today is Saturday, September 12th. Goose is 17 months old today!! Wow! Time flies. I constantly think of how much he has grown and what an amazing little guy he has become. He is no longer a baby. In fact, when I hold him close and hug him tight (as long as he'll let me) I rock him and say "awww, you're my baby!" and he laughs at me. HE even knows he's not a baby anymore! lol.

Anyways, I'm getting off track. I wanted to share our day with you! Goose woke up this morning and didn't want his diaper changed. He screamed to get off of the changing table. I usually don't budge, but it was 7:30 in the morning and I wanted to start our day off right. So, I let him down and decided to change him in the living room. He RAN down the hall screaming "abba!" "abba!" (In Goose language, that means gabba. If you haven't heard, Yo Gabba Gabba is all the rage. I think it's a bunch of people on the best high of their lives, but at least they teach good manners, promote healthy eating & dance 60% of the time. He doesn't get to watch it every day.) and jumps up onto the couch. This is the first time he has ever done this. It was too fricken cute! I just couldn't resist. So I turned on abba and changed his diaper. I made him a little picnic of cheerios, banana and milk and myself some coffee. We enjoyed 30 minutes on the couch together for breakfast. Believe it or not, it was awesome! Kado thought so too. ;)

(don't mind my dirty couch and so-not-matching pillow & blanket with the curtains. I cleaned the couch today and the living room is a work in progress)

Speaking of progress, here is a new (to me, used to the previous owner) papasan chair I got for a fricken steal! You wouldn't even believe it if I told you!! So, I won't. I wouldn't want you to be jealous, ya know?? ;) It's a little big for the space, but I love it. Goose and the rest of the gang love it too. So, with a few alterations of sorts, I'm happy with it!

After our breakfast picnic on the couch, we were off to Walmart. Fun! Ahem. This boy is so like his father in many ways, but let me tell you, he's like his mama too!!

He's impatient. He HAD to have string cheese while grocery shopping AND he just HAD to eat some blueberries too! Haha...I always want to open up and eat something while I shop. I know, that's ghetto, I didn't say I did it! But, for my babe, I'll do anything to make him smile! Here he is waiting in line chowing down on some berries.

And, this is what he did when I said "say cheese"...TOTALLY a ham like his mama! :)

His new coloring book...

..and crayons! I wish he used his coloring book more. ha!

Then, after a nap and lunch, we headed off to the park! It was fun and Goose climbed up and went down the slide by himself for the first time!! He was starting to make a little friend too, that referred to him as "awww, little baby!", until some good old fashion wife-beating started Mmhmm, you read right. It was so stupid. A bunch of loud, classless rednecks were having a children's birthday party. One of the wives was putting the bike in her car. The husband said she was going to break the window and call her stupid. The yelling began, but they were all getting ready to leave so, stupidly, I decided to stay. Then he was yelling at her in the car and hit her. Couldn't tell you how many times or even what was really going on, but I heard one of the other chicks saying she was calling the police. I grabbed Goose up and rushed to my car telling JoJo to get in the back seat and take him. Before she could even buckle him in, I was speeding out of the parking lot..shaking. We were ok and Goose didn't even notice what happened. If there weren't other people there, I would have called the police. Domestic violence scares the crap out of me and I was going on pure instinct. For my child. For JoJo. For myself. I know what you're thinking...gosh, what a ghetto neighborhood, don't ever go there again!!...but, I promise, it has never been the case! It's always so quiet there and I've never even heard a child get in trouble, let alone adults yelling and fighting. But, unfortunately, I probably won't be going back for a good while.

We came home, had a snack and played on our own playground! All-in-all, a good day!!

Our Saturday, in a (big) nutshell! ;)
