Thanksgiving / Birthday weekend

I didn't take many pics over the holiday weekend, but it was delightful. Thanksgiving was peaceful and full of thanks. I was thankful for my wonderful family, good food & getting older. When I told Kaiden that we are thankful for the things we love, he said he was thankful for muffins. =)

The night before Thanksgiving/my birthday, Kevin and Kaiden went down to see his family b/c his aunt from Chicago was in town. Jordan and I went out for Mexican and saw the movie, Burlesque. Loved it!

That morning Kev & Kaiden weren't there when I woke up. I was enjoying my coffee and talking to Mimi & JoJo when they got home. Kaiden ran in and screamed "It's gonna be your birthday!" and ran up and gave me the biggest hug. He had picked me out some balloon candles and was super excited to give them to me! It was too cute. He also picked out a Buzz Lightyear birthday card. =)

While we were cooking, Kaiden got to spend some time with his Mimi.
When he napped, we all played some PS3 Move! Mimi had never played before and she pretty much kicked booty!

When Kaiden woke up from his nap, he helped me bake cookies.
While we waited for those to bake, he hung out with his dada watching videos!
After they baked & cooled, we had a little birthday fun. Mimi had made my favorite pineapple upside down cake, but since Kaiden doesn't like pineapple (I know!) we put the candle in a cookie and sang happy birthday.

We shared the cookie and then he wanted to keep on singing and blowing out the candle! So, we just lit the candle and sang again, again, again, again, again, again, and about 30 more times. In fact, it was a favorite game to play throughout the rest of the weekend.

It was a great birthday and him singing to me was the greatest gift of all time! So.fricken.adorable!

His favorite part was when the wax would burn our fingers and he made us reenact it over and over. I loved the fact that he would sing part of the song and say "we're done!" to get on with blowing out the candle and burning our fingers. =)

Later that night ToysRus was opening at 10 p.m. and there was some Toy Story stuff that we wanted for Kaiden that was 1/2 off. So Kev and I ventured out in the cold and stood in line. It wasn't too bad as everyone was really friendly and the line went really fast. When we got in the door the Toy Story stuff was right at the front. Score! or so I thought. One of the employees basically pushed me as I tried to make my way through. The stuff was blocked off and you had to go around to get to it. Or so I was told! It took about 30 minutes to get to the other side of the store and by time we did, it was blocked off too. The only way you could get to the Toy Story stuff was the check out line. They hell if I was standing in that line when I wasn't even sure they had what we wanted. So we made our way back over and this nice guy looked for me. Too bad they were all sold out. I was pissed at this point and just want to get the heck out of there. So we busted through some barricades and scrammed. We then went to Walmart and got some stuff on our list. I told Kevin after that I was done with Black Friday and it wasn't worth going out in the morning to Target to get something I wanted for my birthday (the flip, but polaroid). While I was sleeping, he tried anyway with no luck. He refused to leave the experience empty handed, so popped over to Joann's and got a $120 tree for $30. It's beautiful and it made me so happy to have a new tree since ours broke last year. What a man I have, huh? =) We put it up and decorated it the next day.

Then Saturday night, we headed down to Toot's and Jr.'s since they were all Kaiden could talk about since getting home Thursday morning. We spent the night and Kaiden had a great time visiting with his family! Here's the only pic I took of him playing with their train whistle.

We also got to see the Schneiders, which was lovely as well. I loved seeing Granny's horses!

I hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving! Sorry it took me so long to post!

(P.S. don't mind our messy house in those photos, we were in the middle of transition for our new couch..more to come!)
